What is Liposculpture?
Liposculpture is a surgical technique to remove unwanted deposits of fat from specific areas of the body, including the face and neck, arms, trunk, abdomen, upper bra bulges, buttocks, hips and thighs, and knees, calves and ankles. This is not a substitute for weight reduction, but a method for removing localized deposits of fatty tissue that do not respond to diet or to exercise.
Who is the best candidate for Liposculpture?
If you have excess subcutaneous fat, which is resistant to diet and exercise.
If you wish to change the contours of your body. Commonly involved areas are the anterior part of the neck (under the chin), upper arms and armpits, male chest/breasts, trunk, abdomen, waist, hips, thighs, inner knees, calves and ankles.
Most patients are near normal weight and desire permanent contour changes.
Improved techniques now allow larger amounts of fat removal. Liposculpture can be useful to heavier persons as well.
Anesthesia
Liposculpture is usually performed under local Anesthesia with sedation; therefore you will sleep through the procedure.
Intended Results of Liposculpture
A permanent improvement in the contour and proportion of the treated areas.
A more flattering figure or physique, in or out of clothing.
Liposculpture Procedure Description
The goal of liposculpture is improvement of the body contouring taking out all exceeding fat. Liposculpture uses thinner cannulas than Liposuction and works in a very superficial layer of the subcutaneous, very near to the skin.
Another major improvement of Liposculpture over Liposuction is the possibility of, just by turning up the cannula towards the skin surface, removing exceeding skin. With this simple procedure, we don't need anymore a 2nd surgical procedure to take out the exceeding skin.
Best of all, Liposculpture can be done with local anesthesia, just using oral sedation, without hospitalization. The patient stays at the clinic for only three hours, ant then can go back home.
Recovery and Healing After liposculpture
The recovery time after liposculpture depends on a number of different things. The doctor that performed the procedure and the type of liposculpture, along with your body’s ability to heal all affect the recovery time and process. Although some people may be a little leery to have a liposculpture procedure done in the first place, it is, for the most part, a relatively simple procedure. Most people can resume their normal activities within a week, and they are completely healed within a few months. However, the first couple of weeks after having liposculpture done are the most important to the recovery process.
Complimentary Procedures
LipoSculpture may be performed as a primary procedure for body contouring or may be combined with other surgical techniques such as facelift, abdominoplasty, or thigh-lift procedures to tighten loose skin and supporting structures.
